Moltex Energy Canada is pleased to announce the formation of an advisory committee which will support the company in achieving its vision. The Committee will include industry leaders and top experts in their fields and includes senior representatives from New Brunswick Power, Ontario Power Generation, Bruce Power, the Nuclear Waste Management Organisation and IDOM.

“Brett Plummer (Vice President Nuclear & Chief Nuclear Officer of NB Power),

“Laurie Swami (President & CEO of the Nuclear Waste Management Organization), and
“Xabier Ruiz (Managing Director IDOM NS & VP of IDOM Canada).
“This is an impressive group of industry leaders by any measure and a great endorsement of the prospects for Moltex in delivering clean energy in Canada and elsewhere,” he added. The Moltex Advisory Committee Canada members will provide invaluable technical and industry knowledge and will help to guide Moltex’s strategy. Their participation will be key in supporting current and future clean energy generation projects.

About the Nuclear Waste Management Organisation: The Nuclear Waste Management Organisation (NWMO) is responsible for implementing, collaboratively with Canadians and Indigenous people, Canada’s Plan for the safe, long-term management of used nuclear fuel. Made up of engineers, technical experts, social scientists and engagement professionals, the NWMO is implementing Canada’s plan, in a manner that protects both people and the environment. Canada’s plan calls for containment and isolation of used nuclear fuel in a deep geological repository, which is made up of a series of natural and engineered barriers. This facility will be located in an area with informed, willing hosts and a suitable rock formation. The NWMO is on track to identify a single, preferred location for this facility by approximately 2023. It is currently active in five areas: Hornepayne, Huron-Kinloss, Ignace, Manitouwadge and South Bruce. This project will only proceed in partnership with people in the area, including First Nation, Métis and municipal communities.
