Moltex Energy Canada is pleased to announce that Bill Pilkington has joined the New Brunswick team as VP Corporate Affairs. Bill is a long-time resident of New Brunswick with 40 years of experience in the Canadian Nuclear Industry. In his view, “This is a great opportunity for New Brunswick and Canada to be leaders in clean carbon-free energy. The Moltex Stable Salt Reactor is a revolutionary step forward in nuclear technology, inherently safe, compatible with renewables, lower cost than coal, and can reduce Canada’s most hazardous nuclear waste.”
Bill’s nuclear career began with Ontario Hydro at Pickering followed by 25 years of progressive positions at NB Power’s Point Lepreau Plant with more than 10 years as CNO and head of the site organization. Bill then joined Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd between 2006 and the end of 2016 where he progressed to SVP positions in the Sheridan Park Commercial Operations Division and transitioned his teams to its successor Candu Energy Inc. During his time there, he oversaw the development of the Enhanced Candu 6 including its assessment by the CNSC through the Vendor Design Review process. He also held VP, SVP, and CNO positions in the AECL Research and Technology Division and transitioned his teams to the Government Owned, Contractor Operated successor organization, Canadian Nuclear Labs. In addition to his executive roles, Bill has completed a series of engagements as a consultant in the Canadian nuclear industry. Bill is a graduate of The University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Rory O’Sullivan, CEO for North America says “We are delighted to have Bill join our New Brunswick team. His experience in the sector will assist us as we expand in New Brunswick and Canada.”
