Moltex donates to southwestern New Brunswick food banks

Saint John, New Brunswick (Thursday, November 24, 2022) – Today, Moltex Energy Canada Inc. (Moltex) donated to the Harbour Lights Campaign to help fund 15 food banks across southwestern New Brunswick into the new year.

“We know this year has been challenging for many in our community, particularly food banks and their users,” said Rory O’Sullivan, CEO, Moltex. “The Harbour Lights Campaign helps individuals and families in need obtain food and other essentials, and we’re proud to contribute.”

For more than 30 years, the Harbour Lights Campaign has coordinated fundraising for 15 food banks across southwestern New Brunswick. While the campaign takes place during the holiday season, funds are dispersed later when food bank donations have slowed but need remains high. Beneficiaries include food banks from St. Stephen to Sussex, including the Fundy Isles.

“Southern New Brunswick has been a great place to grow our business and we’re keen to give back whenever possible,” added O’Sullivan.

Moltex is a nuclear technology leader that has caught the attention of governments, utilities and investors worldwide. It is developing three unique technologies: a Stable Salt Reactor – Wasteburner (SSR-W) that uses recycled nuclear waste as fuel; a WAste To Stable Salt (WATSS) process for recycling nuclear waste to produce SSR-W fuel; and GridReserve thermal energy storage tanks, enabling the SSR-W to act as a peaking plant. Moltex was selected by NB Power to progress development of its reactor technology in New Brunswick, Canada, with the goal of deploying first-of-a-kind SSR-W, WATSS and GridReserve units at the Point Lepreau site.
