Moltex launches new website and brand identity

Saint John, New Brunswick (Tuesday, September 15, 2020)Moltex Energy is excited to launch its new website, which better reflects the company’s goals, product offerings and unique advantages.

“The new site makes it easy for the public, industry, governments, investors, customers and job seekers to learn about who we are and what we do,” said Rory O’Sullivan, Chief Executive Officer, North America, Moltex Energy. “We’ve included more information about what sets us apart from other reactors designs.”

The new site offers information about Moltex’s current project to license and construct the first-of-a-kind Stable Salt Reactor – Wasteburner (SSR-W) in New Brunswick, Canada, in collaboration with NB Power and the Government of New Brunswick. This 300 MW reactor will consume used CANDU fuel, significantly reducing nuclear waste stockpiles. It will also act as a peaking plant, generating up to 600 MW for short periods of time, enabling the further development of intermittent renewables.

The website explains the inherent safety features of molten salt technology and how this led Moltex to a now patented design that is simpler, smaller, and less expensive to build than other reactors of the same power output.

In addition to a new site, Moltex launched a new brand, logo and tag line.

“We need to focus on what matters most: generating clean energy. Yes, we’re also safer and cheaper, as stated in our old tag line, but our goal is to produce energy that’s clean, so we can help mitigate climate change and improve people’s health,” added O’Sullivan.

Nuclear energy generates zero greenhouse gas emissions during generation, and very few over its entire lifecycle. It is as clean as renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and hydro, but it has the added advantage of being able to operate 24/7. Clean energy means better air quality, less smog and lower asthma rates.

Moltex looks forward to advancing its technology and growing its team in New Brunswick. It also welcomes the opportunity to explore new business opportunities in Canada and abroad.
